The Hillingdon Grid for Learning was formed by the schools in Hillingdon in partnership with the Peoples Network. It is a new service which has connected 135 schools, libraries, adult education centres, leisure centres and youth centres.

The service has grown from the seed of the schools ICT support service which provided support for school admin systems. It now encompasses the full breadth of ICT in schools and provides support at all levels for these systems.

HGfL works across the Libraries, Youth Service, Leisure and Adult Education Services as well. Broadband internet, email and web services are provided to all these organisations

Virtual Learning Communities, a Youth Portal and personal portfolio's online are all part of the HGfL service which, along with a design, communications and new media team, works across the entire education sector in Hillingdon, both formal and informal for learners of all ages.
